Behind the camera or somewhere on the beach...
Julia and I became besties practically immediately. I was visiting my parents, touring venues, and when my mom called up the stairs to ask if I was coming to dinner, I realized we’d been on the phone for nearly two hours. From that moment on, she was the ear I vented to when other vendors let me down, my second set of eyes for design choices, and the recipient of every third meme I came across. It didn’t matter that we’d never met in person. We just clicked.
Became Besties When:
We had interviews with vendors who felt like perfect matches for us, only to find in the following months that they reserved that energy for that first phone call, but once booked it became clear their effort and energy was just a selling tactic. Not Julia. Julia is the real deal, and her effort and enthusiasm for me and my husband only grew the closer and closer we got to the wedding day. Her kindness, love, and support of her couples is unmatched.

Literally the second we met on the beach - Ha! I mentioned this above, but truly Andrew and I still tell everyone to this day that we cannot believe you came back to take that final photo of us in front of the tree. It is one of our favorites from the day and it meant the world to us that you remembered when we completely forgot! Also, there was a black cat running around Wrightsville Manor and you kept saying it was good luck so i wouldn’t blame the cat on the rain.
Became Besties When:
We will never forget how special & loved Julia made us feel the entire process - from engagement pictures all the way to the last hour of our wedding. She went above and beyond in everything she did - constant check ins throughout the wedding process, detailed itinerary and timeline for day of, showed up extra early to set the detail shoots, had open conversations and educated us instead of just saying yes to everything, and even left our wedding (after staying over anyways) and came back just to get a picture in front of the lights in the tree at Wrightsville manor because she remembered we said we wanted one and forgot about it in the midst of the crazy!

Following our dinner, we got the opportunity to go take sunset photos with Julia near the marina on the property. At that point in the day, we had our typical wedding stresses that were starting to let up and were excited to get to the party! We loved chatting with Julia and joking around during this part of the wedding experience, it truly felt like we were catching up with a friend as compared to our photographer! To top it off, the pictures she captured of us at sunset on a boat were absolutely stunning! We love you Julia!
Became Besties When:
Julia made the photo experience for the groomsmen the “best that it could be”. She was clear with her expectations and instructions and made the process as efficient as it could be. I personally had a lot of groomsmen that hate taking pictures and I don't think I heard one complaint throughout the whole process. I have also been a groomsman myself multiple times, and having experienced a lot of what-not to do I was very happy with Julia.

It was POURING rain the day before our wedding and the entire morning of. I'm talking borderline monsoon. I woke up to a text from Julia just reassuring me everything was going to be okay and that things were going to turn out beautiful no matter what. It felt like my best friend was texting in to check in on me because she just knew that I was freaking out. She was checking the weather (what seemed like) every 10 minutes so that I didn't have to. It stopped raining right before the ceremony and ended up being a beautiful day. She captured every ray of sunshine, glistening leaf, and even made sure to grab us when it was sprinkling to get the pretty rain picture!

We would share to absolutely, 100%, book with Julia. She is the most professional, kind hearted, amazing soul of a person you will ever meet. She gets everything to you quickly, she checks with other vendors to make sure everyone is on the same timeline, she creates beautiful works of art, and she treats you like family.

This is one of my favorite parts of our time together! We will spend an evening getting you comfortable in front of the camera while creating magazine worthy images! (This is where most of our inside jokes form.)
Complimentary Engagement Session
It is so important that your film and gallery tell the full story of your day. From the big moments to the little details, I have found that 8 hours is usually the perfect amount of time to tell your whole story with a stress free timeline!
8 Hour Minimum
I will create a full photo/video timeline for you to make sure everything is accounted for. This is also where I buffer extra time so when we finish up early, I can tuck you two away to enjoy a moment to take it all in! The day goes by SO fast and I am here to help you slow down and absorb every second

But what you may not realize is that you need a great experience with your photographer more than anything! That is exactly what I promise to give you. Over and over and over again, SM Couples rave about their experience almost more than their images! Why? Because in order to get those natural, genuine portraits that truly capture who you are, you have to feel comfortable with the person taking them.
The way you feel while you are having your portraits taken heavily influences how you feel when you see yourself in the final images. I have worked dozens of SM couples over the years and I can honestly say it is 100% possible to love how you look in your images if you feel comfortable while having them taken!

Do we only get a highlight film with our video collection?
It is so important to me that you get to relive all the big moments from your day! You will receive clips from all the important moments along with your highlight film! (vows, first looks, dances, toasts, etc...) Ceremony videos are included in Collection 1!
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Uhhhh YES! I include 60 miles of travel in each direction for weddings and 15 miles for engagements. I will provide a custom quote for anything outside of this!

Do we really need 8-10 hours of coverage?
My number one priority on your wedding day is for you to be fully present while I capture and create a gallery/film that tells the entire story. Over the years I have found that 8 hours is the least amount of time to allow me to do this while giving you two moments here and there to take it all in with a relaxed timeline.
What is your Posing style?
I have found that catering my posing style to my couples personalities allows me to capture your authentic relationship! Some of my clients need a bit more direction in posing, while others prefer a promt to run wild with and go more candid, both are amazing! Regardless of if you prefer posed, candid, or a mix of both, your photos will never feel forced or stiff!
What is your shooting style on wedding days?
On wedding days I prefer to allow events to unfold as naturally as possible. I try to be invisible allowing all the real emotions and events to play out as they would! Of course when it comes to any portraits that are more hands on or require posing, I will take charge (thank you New York loudness!)
Will you be hands on and keep an eye on my hair, clothing, dress, etc..?
YES! This is such a big pet peeve of mine. I will be there to fix those flyaways, fluff the dress, make sure your makeup is still looking amazing, and anything else you need. Your only job with me is to just enjoy the day!
